Why?

Companies are receiving an overwhelming volume of incoming messages - some of which are from candidates who are not suitable, due to their work eligibility (e.g. not having a visa for the country the company is based in). Speaking to users on recent user interviews highlighted the need to have more granular control over blocking applications from candidates who do not have the correct work eligibility for the position.

What?

For positions where you are not able to offer visa sponsorship to candidates, you can now configure who can apply in the first place. To do this, go to Application Settings.

There are two ways to access Application settings:

  1. Go to the position > edit position > Application settings
  1. Via the dropdown menu > Settings > Account > Application settings.

Application Settings, accessed via the dropdown menu > Settings > Account
Application Settings, accessed via the dropdown menu > Settings > Account

For each position, you can choose whether you’d like to block people who require a visa from applying, or not, and whether to allow people with a temporary work visa to apply.

Toggling ON the setting means that people without the right to work in the location(s) specified, will be blocked from applying to the position. Once toggled on, there is a tickbox which enables you to allow people with a temporary work visa to apply. If you do not tick this box, people with temporary work visas will also be blocked from applying.

Onsite/hybrid positions

If you toggle blocking ON for onsite/hybrid positions, only people who do not require a visa to work in the country where your office is based (as specified on the position) will be able to apply.

Remote positions

If you toggle blocking ON for remote positions, only people who do not require a visa to work in the country/countries where remote employees can be based will be able to apply (as specified on the position, “Where do you require remote employees to be based”). If remote employees can be based anywhere, the application blocking feature will not be available.

If you can offer visa sponsorship, these controls aren’t available - as anyone should be able to apply, no matter their work eligibility.

Editing locations

To edit the location of your company and/or the remote locations, go to the position > Edit position > Logistics.

People without the right to work in the specified locations will not be able to apply to your positions.
